Ed Sheeran's 'The A Team' is an example of a narrative video. Due to the fact that a music video is usually quite short, there are often many fast cuts and continuity editing to resemble a film like theme. Throughout the music video the edits of all the clips are in black and white, maybe to represent to the audience that the story of the video is quite sad and brings and brings a meaningful message.
Ed Sheeran has contradicted his own lyrics with what is being shown in the music video. If you were to listen to the song without the lyrics you would get positive connotations, however this isn't the case here which is fairly unusual as narrative videos usually have the video and lyrics working together to tell a story. The lyrics are very sad which reflects the girls life which is shown throughout, showing her homeless life and constant need for money and shell do anything for it.
